What it rests onTotal-toxic-load reasoning. The tenfold figure traces back to a claim circulated by Hugh Fudenberg that was never published as a controlled study. His stated solution for the 'toxic load left in the wake of vaccinations' is his own detox product, so he sells the answer to the problem he is describing.

Steier's evidence is about US pediatric practice economics under US reimbursement rules and does not transfer to other health systems. Pompa's claim is about a specific product (thiomersal-containing multi-dose flu vaccine) in a market where most single-dose flu vaccines have been thiomersal-free for years, so the two are partly not talking about the same product either.
Both accept that a parent is entitled to ask who benefits financially from a medical recommendation, and Pompa states explicitly that he is not telling anyone not to vaccinate. Neither disputes that the question of incentive is legitimate; they disagree entirely about where the incentive points.
For Steier: evidence of manufacturer payments to vaccinating clinicians, or accounting from real practices showing vaccination turning a profit. For Pompa: a published controlled study behind the tenfold figure, which does not exist. That gap between what each side would need is worth noticing on its own.
